Residential Allotment

Residential Allotment

After a COVID-19 unprecedented school year and our Residential local allotment being unusable due to current restrictions, the residential provision has branched out and taken it upon themselves to build their own allotment in the Residential Gardens.

The Allotment has been put together using resources donated by local business, with staff and pupils building planters from old recyclable pallets.  At present, the Residential has a diverse pool of plants, including potatoes, strawberries, leaks, tomatoes and green beans.

The Allotment coincides with the current British Nutrition Foundation healthy eating initiative, with the aim that fresh produce planted and maintained by the pupils, can be used and introduced into the current weekly residential menus.
