Remote Education

Purpose

This summary outlines our school’s approach to remote education. While there is no longer a statutory requirement to publish remote learning information (following the expiry of the DfE mandate in March 2022), we remain committed to maintaining transparency and ensuring continuity of education in the event of school closures, pupil absence, or other disruptions.

Aims

Our remote education provision aims to:

  • Ensure pupils can continue to access a high-quality curriculum when learning from home.
  • Minimise disruption to learning and maintain academic progress.
  • Support pupil wellbeing and engagement.
  • Keep parents/carers informed and involved.

When Remote Education May Be Used:

Remote education may be implemented in the following circumstances:

  • Local or national emergencies requiring full or partial school closure.
  • Individual or group pupil absences due to illness, isolation, or medical advice.
  • Adverse weather conditions preventing attendance.
  • Temporary building/site issues or class closures.

Delivery of Remote Education:

Our remote education offer will include:

  • Independent learning tasks.
  • Access to Oak National Academy.  This is a free and easy to use educational platform which contains pre-recorded video lessons.  www.classroom.thenational.academy/

  • In-school provision, where appropriate.

Monitoring and Evaluation

We regularly review the effectiveness of our remote education provision and welcome feedback from pupils, parents/carers, and staff.
