WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)

Oakfield School delivers weekly WRAP sessions to the Year 7 pupils over a 10-week cycle.

The sessions will be held at the school during a chosen timetabled lesson. The school will encourage pupils to participate in these sessions. The WRAP sessions are led by the school’s Emotional Well-being Team.

Overview of WRAP

WRAP is an evidence-based group work approach designed by Mary Ellan Copeland in the United States of America to help people manage their emotional and mental health.

WRAP has dual benefits as a preventative model and in supporting existing emotional and mental health difficulties.

WRAP is designed to help you:

  • understand what can impact on emotional and mental well-being
  • prevent or decrease troubling feelings and behaviours
  • increase coping strategies
  • increase peer/community network
  • recognise early warning signs (and crisis planning)
  • develop an individualised coping plan
